ਦਰ ਉਡੀਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਉਮਰ ਭਰ ਢੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਨਾ
ਸਾਜ਼ ਬਣਕੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਵੀਨਾ ਤਰਸਦੀ ਤਰਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਹੀ
ਤਨ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਕਾਬਿਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਾਦਿਕ ਕਦੇ ਛੋਹਿਆ ਹੀ ਨਾ
ਚਾਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ’ਚੋਂ ਅੱਥਰੂ ਗੁੰਮ ਹੀ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ
ਆਸ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਅਸਰ ਵਿਛੜਨ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਨਾ
ਕੀ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਦਰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ’ਚ ਦੱਸ ਤਾਂ ਸੋਹਣਿਆਂ
ਹੋ ਜੁਦਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਅ ਫਿਰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਨਾ
ਸਰਦ ਸੀ ਬੇਜਾਨ ਸੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਸੀ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਦਿਲ ਤਾਂ ਸੀ
ਨਸ਼ਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ਼ ਥਾਂ ਇਹ ਬਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਟੋਹਿਆ ਹੀ ਨਾ।

ਆਸ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾੜੀ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਸ਼ੁੱਭ ਦੀ ਏ
ਲੋੜ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤੀ ਤੇ ਛੁੱਬ ਦੀ ਏ
ਕਾਤਲ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੂਰਜ ਮਰਦਾ ਏ
ਜਦ ਕੋਈ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲਹੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬਦੀ ਏ
ਸਿਰ ’ਤੇ ਜਦ ਮੰਡਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ
ਭੁੱਲਦੀ ਜਦ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤਦ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਸੁੱਝਦੀ ਏ
ਜਿੰਨੀ ਲੰਮੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਏ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਦੀ
ਚਿੱਠੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਥਾਂ ਤਕ ਪੁੱਜਦੀ ਏ
ਤਨ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਜਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਦੀ ਏ
ਅਜਕਲ ਉਹ ਖਿਆਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਉਡਦੀ ਏ।
