As the world gets smaller, regional arts from all around the globe are merging. Music is one of those arts which has been heavily influenced by globalization. Every music type has different ways of processing the same notes (most of the time) of an octave. If you are already a master in one style or type of music, being familiar with a different type of music will give you another set of tools to process the same scales/notes.
This blog is about Northern Indian music, also referred to as ‘Hindustani Music’ or sometimes just ‘Indian Music’. It covers everything from the very basics to the advanced theoretical and practical techniques. The main reason for this blog is to preserve the greatness of Hindustani Music. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or point out omissions and errors.
I suggest reading everything in the “Basic Theory” category before proceeding to elsewhere. Enjoy.
